I am suffering from eustachian tube blockage from last 1.5 years. It was first diagnosed 6 months after the problem started doctor said I eustachian tube is unable to make negative pressure and that was mild. I had no fluid. 3 months after the spray and valsalva ear drum started to move but then I got boils in mouth. Freaking out with that I went to another ent as my regular doctor wasn't available. This doctor did myringitomy with tube but other doctors said it wasn't necessary. After that I started worst symptoms than before ear and moving head pressure with weird sensation. Another doctor in gangaram delhi checked and said the eustachian tube is open already and all those symptoms are because of the grommet working as foreign object. Felt better for 2.5 months about 80%. Then again last 3 weeks the symptoms appeared and worst. The ent looked and said the grommet is now falling out. Could falling out grommet make the sensation and pressure worse and gonna be better once it falls out?

To answer your question yes an extruding grommet might cause symptoms you are experiencing. But do not worry when the tympanic membrane heals it pushes out the grommet naturally. Once the grommet falls out completely you will feel better.
Next Steps
Do not panic start with steam inhalation twice a day and try to keep your ear dry.
Health Tips
If any infection occurs consult an ENT asap.
