Epidural side_effect
Hello doctor, My sister is pregnant and she is scared of labour pains her doctor suggested to go for epidural but we heard epidural has long term side effect like back pain, is it true kindly suggest.

Hello.. Ya, epidural is given as form of anesthesia during labor.. It relieves pain ....but any good comes with bad.. It has risk of headache,backpain .she might find that epidural makes pushing more difficult and additional medications or interventions may be needed such forceps orcesarean. So decide considering both positive and negative.
