Hello. Vitamin D deficiency is present in around 80% of Indians. Vitamin D supplements are prescribed for certain conditions( which can be explained better by your endocrinologist). Vitamin D supplementation to maintain their levels in normal range has not been found to cause kidney stones. There is a misconception that since most stones are formed from calcium, decreasing calcium intake/decreasing vitamin d leads to prevention of stones. However it is NOT SO. Vitamin D deficiency and calcium deficiency are found to cause kidney stones. So you can continue taking the supplements As for your current stone problem there needs to be a further evaluation as mentioned below In meantime you can take Syp KCit 2 tsp TDS for 3 months for atone prevention
Next Steps
CBC RFT SERUM ELECTEROLYTES Serum calcium, phosphate , uric acid Vit D and Pth level Urine r/m and culture 24 hr urine for uric acid, Oxalate, calcium, sodium, potassium creatinine NCCT KUB
