Looks like u have researched a lot on internet over the prescribed treatment and now scared. No treatment surgical or non surgical is without complication. Strongly suggest to discuss with your surgeon abt potential complications and avoid internet for this to avoid anxiety. Although inferior turbinate cauterization is not at all a complicated procedure and Empty nose syndrome after inf turbinate reduction is very very unlikely.

Kindly mention what your symptoms and complaints are. If you have allergic hypertrophy of your inferior turbinate. It can recur after diathermy. Kindly consult for further guidance. SMD of inferior turbinates is usually done under local anaesthesia but some surgeons also prefer GA.
