I am having wheezing sound when I breath in and hence I have consulted pulmonologist, he asked me to do PFT and FENO test. FENO test shows 58 which is severe. I am not asthama patient too, PFT shows 72%. How serious is it? do I need to take any precautions? I am using symbicort 320 twice a day.

Hi. I understand your concern s. You are having asthma as lung functions might be normal with asthma. Continue with the inhalers as advised and keep a regular follow up with a pulmonologist.

High FeNo levels denote high eosinophilic allergic asthma it responds well to steroids. 72 is a pretty good lung capacity. Continue inhaler and for further queries consult Ur Pulmonologist
