Elevated Bilirubin
Went for master health checkup recently and found that my Bilirubin total and indirect are at elevated levels. Never had jaundice before. Is there anything I should be doing to get this to normal? What could go wrong due to the elevated Bilirubin? I was suggested to go for LFT (optional) as everything else was in expected levels. Is there a reason Bilirubin can be at higher level when everything else is normal? Appreciate an insight on this. Thanks!

Hello...I understand your concern towards your health and I appreciate it...there are many causes for jaundice including hepatitis from viruses like Hep A,B,C,alcoholic behavior, high lipid diet, smoking affects your liver indirectly, it may also be due cholecystitis, cholelithiasis etc...so the cause for deranged LFT should be investigated properly... Consult nearest gastroenterologist they will help you further
