Effectiveness of antibiotic
What is the best antibiotic between cefpodoxime and Azithromycin in covid positive cases. One of my family member got positive test result and doctor gave cefpodoxime 200 mg. Here i am attaching the CBC report.

cefpodoxime and Azithromycin belong to different groups usually prescribed for bacterial infection. As such there is no indication for these antibiotics in covid positive cases co-associated with bacterial infection. The report attached here shows minimal rise in neutrophils ,probably the reason doctor has prescribed cefpodoxime.
