Hello It’s very common at this age for toddlers to explore things by putting them in their mouth. Eating a small petal of a marigold flower is usually not dangerous. Keep plants, flowers, and small objects out of reach Supervise during outdoor play Teach early about what is ‘not for eating’
Next Steps
Offer sips of water to clear the mouth Observe for 24 hours No need to induce vomiting or give any home remedies If any symptoms occur, contact your doctor
Health Tips
Red flags: Vomiting, diarrhea, or excessive drooling Rash or swelling around the mouth Difficulty breathing or swallowing Drowsiness or unusual behavior

Marigold flowers are usually edible, source of homeopathy medicine too A petal eaten wouldn’t harm a baby. Mostly the Indian marigolds are safe Some varieties of marigold like marsh marigold are not in edible list and be careful when the baby is left unattended with them. Usually, they cause stomach and urinary irritation and symptoms accordingly
Next Steps
Should be safe
Health Tips
If symptoms of diarrhoea/ vomiting/ pain develop consult. A safe pathway is to keep feeding the baby normally in accidental unknown exposure - the agent will be absorbed minimally and not do much harm. We encourage toasted bread as a home remedy
