Ear wax removal and consequences
Hi doctor. My son is 4 and is complaining of ear wax. I've been giving clearwax drops for 3 days but he's still complaining. ENT specialist recommended wax removal by suction but I fear it'll be painful and moreover he won't stay still during procedure. I also have inhibitions towards using sedation for the process. Please advice and guide me

It's challenging to clean a child's ear. Suctioning is usually safe if done carefully. Personally I never had to sedate a child to clean ears. Usually if you use dewax drops regularly for 1 month we should be able to clear his ears.
