DO NOT USE COTTON BUDS TO CLEAN YOUR EARS. YOU EAR CANALS DO NOT REQUIRE FREQUENT CLEANING. COTTON BUDS ARE NOT CLEANING TOOLS AT ALL! They are only to be used to apply medication (creams/ointments) in certain contagious skin diseases.
The delicate skin of the ear canal is too sensitive to the abrasive effect of cotton buds leading to darkening and lichenification of the canal wall skin which leads to perennial itching of ears. Consult an ENT Specialist for management of this condition.
