Ear ache and ring

Hello, I have recently been having on and off ear ringing and it tends to be quite loud. I can't pinpoint exactly what causes it, I have used q-tips and subconsciously use my finger to clean my ear. I am 16 years of age and have had no prior problems with my ears or hearing. Is this a sign of deafness?

Ringing sound (tinnitus) can occur due to various reasons..at your age most commonly due to eustachian tube dysfunction..it may be an early symptom of sensory neural hearing loss. ..sometime associated with depression...most common etiology is unknown.. visit an ENT specialist for assessment..if any depressive symptoms present consult a psychiatrist..
