Pain in dry eyes is due to hyper osmolarity of the tear film that results in activation of pain receptors . Lubricate eyes frequently to reduce osmolarity, blink properly by closing the lids completely and do cold compresses. You may take paracetamol 650 mg as a pain killer. Discuss with your doctor to add secretagogue eye drops that are available but require a prescription and supervision. Reduce evaporative losses of tears as well.
