Dry cough with palpitations
Hi, I'm having dry cough which started around 15 days back with cold and cough problem. I took some antibiotics and chestncold tablet for 3 days at that time. I felt relaxed and cold went away completely but cough problem is still persisting. It's been almost 15 days now, I have dry cough which is frequent at night times before sleeping. While sleeping I don't get any problem. With cough, I feel hard to breathe and my heart beats at a rapid speed. With all this I feel shivering(vibrations) in my upper body and hand. I consulted with a general physician regarding this, he gave me some medicine: montelukast sodium and levocetirizine hydrochloride, Methylprednisolone and cefpodoxime proxetil & potassium clavulanate. He told to continue this prescription for 5 days and its the second day. I searched the Internet and found that these medicines are used to treat asthmatic patients. I wanna know what could be the problem and how to diagnose it and if its related to lungs or heart? Thanks

Hi. I understand your concern s. You will need to undergo a detailed examination and investigation like chest x ray and pulmonary function test which is needed for the diagnosis as well as to assess severity of asthma based on which treatment can be started. Consult a pulmonologist for the same at the earliest.
