Doubts of clonazepam recovery
I was prescribed 0.25 mg clonazepam for 14 months . It was a misdiagnosis of general anxiety disorder . Actually it was ocd. The 0.25 mg clonazepam was for once a day. I believe it could have caused various damage to my brain. I believe it might have caused problems related to sexual as well as cognitive functions. The reason I feel this is because I have read about it from nih websites and Mayo clinic. I am deeply feeling emotions of betrayal from my doctor for giving me such a high risky drug without psychotherapy and without finding the root cause of the problem which was happening just due to my overthinking brain. I am desperate that these damages to neurotransmitter will never recover and I will have to deal with the consequence of sexual dysfunction. I never had a panic attack in my life . This is just too much to handle for me . Please help me by replying as I can't afford for a clinical visit.

Hi ! Clonazepam 0.25 once daily is a very low dose, but taking it for 14 months is not advisable for all patients. Your Psychiatrist may have some reasons to continue it. You can follow up with your Psychiatrist or can take a second opinion to taper it down and to start appropriate treatment for your symptoms. The disruption in cognitive and sexual functions due to medications are totally reversible. If these symptoms are due to Clonazepam then they will disappear gradually over time on withdrawing the medicine.
Health Tips
Kindly do not Google your symptoms. It will increase your distress and thus further alter your neurotransmitter levels. Instead ask a medical professional regarding your symptoms and do what is advised.

It’s not a risky medication nor will it cause permanent damage. Take some multivitamins for 3 months. Nothing to worry. And stop reading about it from websites. Those effects are not applicable for everyone
