That's unfortunate. Paracetamol is not a preferred drug for dogs , it may cause gastric bleeding in dogs. Please give meloxicam or melonex syrup ( Intas ) or melobest tablets if you doubt your dog of fever . It is safe drug .
And no it is not normal to have fever in dogs ,there must be some problem. Please get your dog treated ASAP.
Now coming to ticks , don't think of removing ticks one by one . There are many sprays available to remove ticks from dog body such as Effipro spray or Neyflee spray . All the ticks will be gone in two to three application.
Next Steps
your dog may be suffering from Ehrlichiosis - a disease caused by ticks and this causes fever also . get your dog tested for blood protozoa in local pathological lab.
Health Tips
give a good iron tonic such as Pet RBC Syrup to your dog as ticks causes anemia .
Please do not use paracetamol first of all.
Fever , dullness, not eating are common signs of illness. Ticks and fever suggest it could be tick fever. Kindly consult a veterinarian online or offline to tackle the issue at the earliest.
It is common for dogs to have a fever, and it has different treatment options, including paracetamol. It is always better to know the root cause so the treatment could be more specific.
Next Steps
kindly do some lab tests like blood tests and identify the root cause for it. then start a specific treatment
