Plz let me know should I continue with cabgolin 0.25mg dose?bcoz my PRL does not reduced much post 11 weeks consumption of cabgolin 0.25mg( 1 dose per week) since July 21, 2026?
I was diagnosed with 3x5mm lesion in anterior pituitary microadenoma in September 17, 2025 when PRL ➡️158 ng/ml.
Cabgolin 0.50mg was consumed once a week from 17th September 2025 till 13th December 2025. Afterwards
Pill free zone from 14th December 2025 till 20th July 2026*
PRL values in pill free zone
9 January ➡️PRL 4.59 (27 days off pill
11 Feb PRL ➡️21.43(8.5 weeks off pill
21 Apr PRL➡️ 18.46( 18 weeks off).
20 Jul PRL➡️ 29.75(31 weeks) off but mildly elevated so dr prescribed cabgolin 0.25mg once a week since 21st July and so far completed 11 weekly dose on 11th October and my blood test was done on 23rd October PRL ➡️21.40 ng/ml ➡️CLIA method. ➡️➡️ I missed to take 12th weekly pill so there was 12 days gap when blood was tested.
Your prolactin has come down from 29.75 to 21.40 on cabergoline, which is a real response, even though it hasn't normalized yet. Missing one weekly dose just before this test can also lower the apparent drop, so this single result doesn't mean the medicine has stopped working.
Next Steps
Take every weekly dose on schedule and repeat the PRL test after another 8 to 12 weeks without a missed dose. Whether to continue your current dose or step it up should be decided by the doctor following your pituitary adenoma, based on this fuller trend.
Health Tips
If you notice new headaches, vision changes or missed periods, please go back to your endocrinologist or gynaecologist promptly, since these can mean the adenoma needs closer monitoring.
