1.How long does it takes to completely recover from an intra articular distal femur type 3 fracture? 2.How to prevent stiffness? 3.When can i get full range of motion & extension? 3.Can I recover completely and do all the activities like before??

fracture heals in about 3 months - mostly it takes 9 months to recover. Physio to prevent stiffness. Range of motion mostly improves upto 6 months. if might be difficult to full movements

1. Complete recovery may take 3-6 months. 2. Full range of movement- 1 week. 3. You can recover near complete but not 100% as natural is the best. You can always aim to get as near as possible to that.

AO type 3 distal femur fracture is a severe injury.  Stiffness following these fracture fixation is very common. Keep doing physiotherapy. To prevent stiffness,  we usually do rigid fixation n early mobilization though weight bearing is delayed till 6 to 8 weeks. Recovery is depend on type of fracture n fixation used. Some fractures though get good union,  partial restriction of movement stiffness remains.
