Dealing with these sort behavior from a teenager is often quite challenging. You really got to take a step back and start to see things as objectively as possible. Adolescent issues should be seen as multifaceted and more as a systemic problem than an individual's problem. It is likely that these behavior has developed over many years due to interplay of multiple factors like environment, experiences, upbringing, genes, personality factors like confidence, self esteem etc. Adolescent years are further complicated because of the transitions and changes one goes through in body, hormones, emotional, identity, social and interpersonal issues.
Next Steps
this has to be handled very sensitively by not making him wrong. do not judge him and never appear judgemental. You got to start appreciating his perceptions and empower him to bring about changes in his life. If you are able to get him to see a therapist, it would be better as we need to focus on enhancing his insight by first developing good therapeutic relationship and then empower him to bring about changes
