Dear Sir,
I can understand your shoulder problem.
The type of surgery and it's result for a shoulder dislocation depends upon the amount of labrum torn, if there is any bone loss and the presence of multi directional instability.
Having said that the success rate of arthroscopic bankart repair ranges from 92 to 95 percent in expert hands.
An opinion from a shoulder specialist is recommended
Hello there.
I can understand your concern.
There are 2 parts of the answer.
1. When dislocated, reduction is done by orthopedician and it should be done as soon as possible to avoid damage to some nerves and vessels.
2. Post-reduction, it can be managed either by conservative methods like strengthening of rotator cuff or by surgical means.
Surgical methods are effective and reduces further chances of dislocation.
So consult a orthopedician in person for further evaluation and management.
Best regards.
Dr. Anil Kumar Jain.
