Disability certificate for sickle cell
So I have homozygous sickle cell disease but I have not been dependent on blood transfusions for past 14 years (I'm 18). I Haven't had any pain crisis requiring hospitalisation too, just some moderate pain almost once a week which I am able to handle at home with massage and some painkillers like ketorolac (prescribed by my doc). But yeah I do have moderate to severe fatigue on a regular basis which hinders my ability to focus as I used to on my studies. Also I'm asplenic, and get virals almost throughout the year. I just wanted to know if I am eligible for pwd certificate? the guidelines I have attached do say hbss qualifies for benchmark disability but does that mean I will for sure get disability percentage ≥ 40? please check the highlited line and the table Ps I've been on hydroxyurea and folic acid since I was 4.
