Dear Doctor
Though not a professional sprinter or runner, I could run around 25 Km at a stretch at good pace before getting exposed to consumption of tobacco through puffing cigar and cigarette. Quite recently, I am experiencing an unusual breathing difficulty while running a long distance. I feel as if I am gasping for breath. I am trying to quit smoking . What should I do more to address the issue ?
Profound regards

Hi definitely you should taper and quit smoking
Follow your regular exercise with healthy nutritious diet
You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance
Hello, keep your routine practice but try not to overdo or stretch yourself too much. Listen to your body & do your work out at your own pace. AS you said smoking can reduce the lung volume, which may result in breathing difficulty. If you have planned to quit smoking do it instantly. You can do it if you have the will. If you find it difficult you can get Homoeopathy medicines for the same. They are safe & effective. To know more & for any other concern you can call us or reach us online.

U need to strengthen ur muscles n build stamina. This can be done in a gym. Follow this
1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic). ) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do.
2. Don't Overeat
3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U can eat whatever ur mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is ur traditional food. If punjabi eat paratha, if belongs to south then take idli/ dosa etc.
4. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc
5. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep.
6. Avoid fast foods n fried foods
7.Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit.
8. Drink lot of water
9. Everyday preferably sleep on same time
10. Maintain active life style
Exercise in the form of yoga, cycling, Swimming, gymming etc.
Now about point no. 10. You should join a gym for weight training. Do it 2-3 times a week with at least 48 hours in between 2 sessions. On other days u can do cardio exercises. For more details u can consult me.
