Diastolic dysfunction
I have been diagnosed with grade 1 lvdd and mild TR today.. Recurrent complaints of reduced exercise intolerance & shortness of breath on exertion + on lying down .. Doctor told me ur E/a ratio is around 0.85, normal is near 1 so its not that bad.. Untreated hypertension + sinus tachycardia episodes have affected relaxation so take bp med telma beta for 6 months- the diastolic function will improve on its own and be normal by then!! Now I have some doubts- 1) Can grade 1 cause my severe symptoms? 2) Can diastolic function really improve wid bp n rate control? 3) I googled about it n it says its irreversible and will lead to heart failure which has scared me abit

Hi, your symptoms are not related to diastolic dysfunction, but as your doctor says control your blood pressure and heart rate. Improvement in diastolic function depends upon many factors and we have to wait and see.
Next Steps
continue medications as advised by doctor
