A blood test (beta hcg) will help to comfirm pregnancy. But 4 weeks is very early for a scan. They may not be able to see a pregnancy at 4 weeks. Ideally after 6 weeks. But in case of pain or suspecting ectopic you can do a scan at 5 weeks.
