Diabetes is a chronic disease which is gradually progressive. As your husband has diabetes for 7-8years, he needs to follow strict low carbohydrate diet, do regular exercise and take medications regularly.
He needs check up for complications such as diabetic retinopathy which is a condition that affects retina and neuropathy that affects nerves and feet and nephropathy that affects kidneys.
Please get regular diabetic checks every 3-6months.
