In diabetic patients there may be fluctuations or increased BP due to associated diabetic nephropathy or hypertension itself. There may be also changes in the blood pressure due to autonomic neuropathy associated with the diabetes, so it is advisable to turn to one side and wait for at least 5 min before waking up from her bed so as to avoid the changes in her blood pressure. Please visit your endocrinologist for further optimization of your diabetic and blood pressure medications. Thank you!
