She was suffering from mild fever in associated with vomiting and thrust in the month of last February and also there was gradual weight loss was observed by us. When we consult to a Doctor in Saudi Arabia because she was in Saudi Arabia that time so they said it is Type1 diabetes. She is on Insulin right now but I want to know is there any chances to end this diabetes for life time? I am very much in tension for my 3 years old baby please suggest me the best treatment. Thank you..!!

Type 1 DM simply means that her pancreas isn't producing insulin which is a hormone that we all need. For her it needs to be supplemented. At present insulin is available only in injectable form. And there is no other treatment modality. Alternative forms of insulin like oral tablets or sprays are still under development. In future we may not need to inject insulin. Other area of research is stem cell therapy which is still under development. For now u should continue with insulin till the time we have a better alternative
