Hi, One need to understand why headache occurs. Headache: A-It is mainly due to 3 major conditions. 1- Cervicogenic headache(here nerve originating from upper cervical spine mainly C3 finds its distribution at area you have described for pain). This headache is only mild to moderately relieved by pain killer/analgesics. 2-Tension headache:occurs mainly in evening time or after strenous work .apart from pain it also causes stiffness and pain at shoulder & neck. This type of pain is relieved by pain killers with Muscle relaxants.Idea is to have good strength and relaxation of neck muscles to avoid developing such symptoms daily. 3- Migrane headache-Here some trigger factor leads to headache(trigger factors are different for evryone & it could be anything from food particles,to inadequate rest,to strenous work to dust. There is no problem with brain as such as no investigation can prove it so one has to identify trigger factor & eliminate it. Apart from this there are more than 30 subtypes of migraine, cluster headache, AO joints leading to headache etc. Aim is to put right diagnosis and treat it. Correct diagnosis will never fail your treatment, wrong diagnosis or no diagnosis will.visit some interventional pain specialist nearby for diagnosis and treatment further.hope it helps.
