Prozac or fluoxetine is a medication which works on the brain chemical "serotonin". The usage of fluoxetine is done not just for depression but a host of other conditions like anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, diabetic neuropathy etc. However you must discuss with the psychiatrist who had prescribed fluoxetine to you, the intended purpose and expected benefits of the same. Hope this helps you..
