Hello Dear, It's hard for anyone to spend the school or college years without friends. When there is no one walking with you or sharing your thoughts, it is natural for anyone to get conscious while walking and talking or to get all sort of depressed thoughts and ideas. It altogether reduces your confidence and self-esteem. You end up not being yourself outside home and eventually it would affect your behaviour at home as well. There could be different reasons for this. Firstly, you need not know how to approach people. Secondly, you might not have built the social skills to hold a casual conversation with people of your age Thirdly, environment you are in could be very different from the one in which you were raised. Fourthly, in your current state you have zero confidence about the way you look, thoughts you hold or possibilities of others accepting and respecting you. I can give you certain tips to improve however we being social animals need a solid foundation to start applying those tips confidently. Counselling from a competent professional would be the best option for you to overcome the shyness as well as low confidence and bring out the beautiful & interesting person you truly are. Good Luck.
