Psychiatric disorders take a few weeks to respond to medications.. So we need to make sure we are taking the prescribed dose everyday. Secondly, the patient and doctor should do a evaluation weather the symptoms are in an improving trend. If all that's taken care of one needs to identify triggers internal as well as external which might be causing you anxiety in such case adding some kind of therapy depending on the case will help. If despite all this paroxetine still helps only partially or not at all.. one can always try some other medication after consulting with the doctor. Hope this helps.

Hello,
Paroxetine CR 37.5 mg for 45 days is generally within the therapeutic trial period. However, for anxiety disorders, full response sometimes takes 6–8 weeks or even longer, and some individuals may require dose adjustment or augmentation depending on symptom severity.
If anxiety is still persisting, possible reasons include:
• Partial response to current dose
• Need for dose optimization
• Underlying stressors or triggers
• Coexisting conditions (such as panic disorder, OCD, or depression)
• Lack of concurrent psychotherapy
It is important not to stop or change the medication abruptly, as stopping it in this way may cause withdrawal symptoms.
Next Steps
• Schedule a follow-up with your treating psychiatrist to review response.
• Discuss symptom pattern (frequency, triggers, severity).
• Consider adding psychotherapy such as CBT, which significantly improves outcomes in anxiety disorders.
Health Tips
• Some anxiety symptoms improve gradually rather than suddenly.
• Avoid self-adjusting the dose.
• If you experience worsening anxiety, severe restlessness, or mood changes, seek review promptly.
