Dengue-Rashes 55K pltlets
My brother has been diagnosed with dengue fever 4 days ago. Yesterday his platelet count was 55K. Last night the rashes were observed on his skin.Today more rashes are there on body. Otherwise he is feeling better than earlier. Please suggest, Do i need to admit him in hospital as Consulting Doctor adviced to treat from home.

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  His platelets are very low. You havent mentioned how dengue was diagnosed? Was there any test done? No no need for admission. Provide complete bedrest watch for bleeding if bleeding starts due to any reason then platelet transfusion is must.
