D dimer is NOT USED for diagnosis of covid. RTPCR and RAT are used for diagnosis, and sometimes CT also. Rest is on clinical suspicion. D dimer is not used for diagnosis of covid 19. It is used to diagnose pulmonary embolism that is one of the complications of covid 19 and many other diseases like deep vein thrombosis. Only D dimer normal or borderline or high can not diagnose covid 19.
