Cyst in scalp
Hello,
My mother, 65 years old has observed a small cyst in her front head scalp. We showed neurologist in Sakra world hospital and he redirected us to the dermatologist.
The dermatologist referred to the plastic surgeon.
She had a history of the similar cyst removal in year 1990 by a neurosurgeon as she said.
Is it related to neuro or general cyst surgery? The neurologist confirmed that its not related to neuro. I'm confused, please help.
Is it necessary to go for a surgery or maybe homeopathy is an option? What are the risk factors associated with it if left un treated. And what are the risk for undergoing cyst removal surgery at this age?

If the cyst is not troubling your mother, you can let it be as it is. If there is any pain or pus within it, it indicates infection, which needs to be treated with antibiotics. You have to watch out for change in colour and sudden growth of the overlying skin, because that may indicate a cancerous change.
Dermatologists can excise the lesion safely if it is within or under the skin, as long as there is no deeper involvement with the brain tissue or skull. The reason for referral to a plastic surgeon was probably for removal with minimal scarring.
Homeopathy will not be useful since a surgical treatment is required.
