Cylindrical -2.75(R) and -2.25(L)
My 5year old son today only got diagnosed with above eye number, i am curious to know he never complained of not seeing properly and suddenly this high number is detected at regular checkup. Would it increase at increasing pace or slowly

Child might have got habituated for low vision since beginning that's why he may not be having any complaints.
Next Steps
consult  ophthalmologist. 1.since child was not using glasses and  with this power possible that child may be having amblyopia. 2. rule out corneal cause of cylinder

If above things are ruled out follow up can be done 6 monthly

It can be possible as he would not have know the actual vision . Provided you got it from an ophthalmologist and not from an optical store directly it would most probably be right . It is not uncommon to see those powers in 5 year old . Once he uses the glasses he would know the difference and you can get home checked again after 3 months to know everything is going smoothly
