Can You Go Into the Sea With an Open Wound? 🔹 Risks: ✅ Infection: Seawater contains bacteria like Vibrio vulnificus, which can infect open wounds. ✅ Delayed Healing: Prolonged exposure to water can soften scabs and slow down the healing process. ✅ Pain or Irritation: Saltwater may sting and irritate the wound. 🔹 Precautions: ✅ Cover the Wound: Use waterproof bandages to protect the wound from bacteria. ✅ Clean After Swimming: Wash the wound thoroughly with clean water and apply an antiseptic. ✅ Monitor for Signs of Infection: Redness, swelling, or pus may indicate an infection. 🔹 Serious Considerations: ⚠️ Avoid swimming if the wound is large, deep, or showing signs of infection. ⚠️ Consult a doctor if you're immunocompromised or have underlying health conditions. What You Should Do? ✅ Treatment: If you decide to swim, ensure the wound is covered and cleaned afterward. For persistent wounds, consult a healthcare provider for proper care and advice. 👍 Like this info if it helped! 💙 📹 Need a detailed video consultation? I would suggest you to keep the wound clean and dry, wash it with soap and water to avoid infection. Avoid getting into public water bodies like the swimming pool or sea as you asked as it may be the source of many microorganisms which may enter the wound and cause infection. As for the healing part, it will take time to heal completely, it may leave a scar mark for which you can use any anti scar gels, eventually the goal is to keep the hound moisturised so that it heals properly.
Next Steps
keep the wound clean, avoid public water bodies like a swimming pool and the sea, keep the wound moisturised.
Health Tips
use antibiotic creams to avoid infection.
