CT Scan Necessary..?
One week ago my Son (2.5yrs) started vomitings in the night from 2.30pm and it continued till 6 am in the morning and Dr. gave him medication which includes Antibiotics and diarrhea preventive medicine but the problem is we forgot to inform that he has fallen and hit his head on the same day at 5 pm and he cried for few mins and was absolutely normal later until vomitings happened but few of my relatives suggested me to have CT Scan as vomitings should not happen after head injury, is that really necessary and will it cause any radiation harm for him. And my son is very Active and doing well now. I don’t see any reason for the scan.

Well,if head injury was very mild, these symptoms may be due to stomach infection. But keep in mind the fact that signs of brain injury have to be ruled out. But,your paediatrician is the best person to answer your question about CT scan. No,X-ray radiation, though present, will be minimal.
