Creatinine Level at 4.37
My father was admitted for low Hb which on investigation was attributed to CKD. Later sonography revealed Polycystic Kidney Disease. At time of hospitalization his Creatine level was 6.73 on Jan 26.01.2019. Later he was discharged with medicines and advised diet and rest. His BP is 120/80 and no Diabetes. Today in follow up with Dr on examination his Creatine level is at 4.37. What would be further course of treatment? Does it mean his Kidneys are functioning normally and will be able to bring creatine below 1.4?

If renal function is deteriorating due to polycystic kidney disease.. Then s. Creatinine will not come down to baseline... But it will become stable at one point... After that  there are chances of further deterioration of renal function  which at any point may require dialysis.. Or it may remain stable for a longer duration....
