Not being able to have intercourse happens to some couples. SOmetimes it resolves on its own in a few weeks to months, but sometime it takes years on end, as the couple do not take the initiative consult a doc. It's good that you came out with the problem.. which is the very step towards resolution. Narrow vaginal orifice, thick hymen, vaginismus, erectile dysfunction,,, whatever it be, it can be resolved. Best to consult a sexologist privately (both of you should go). At least initiate a phone consultation which can later evolve into face-to-face consultn over skype or in person. Please note that If one or both of you need physical examination and some lab tests, then it becomes necessary to visit your local gynecologist.
It is also possible that you could try consummation and conception in parallel.
Best wishes.

It's not uncommon. It's known as unconsumatted marriage. It can be usually managed by experienced sexologist or Andrologist. For planning to achieve pregnancy, make relationship during fertile period. It's from 11th to 18days of period, provided ur wife is having regular cycle.
