Cough with high TSH Values
Three days back my wife had as severe fatigue, cough, cold and body pains. We consulted a general physician. He noticed swelling near thyroid and suggested thyroid profile, blood picture along with rapid antigen test. Thyroid tests show high TSH Values 106.6 for the normal range of 0.4-4. She has swelling near thyroid and cough is frequent. Is this chronic? does it happen due to work conditions? Is it curable with medication ? Will jt set life back to normal or we need to change our lifestyle? Thanks in advance

You need to have the swelling investigated with ultrasound of the neck and also a needle test to determine the nature of the swelling.. It should not be taken lightly... Tsh is too high and needs to be supplemented with tablets.. The needle test and ultrasound will determine the further course of treatment... Tsh can be reduced with medications but the swelling may not be.. Please consult online for further evaluation and treatment

Hi...next step is USG NECK...If it shows only benign findings....using thyroxine tablets and 6monthly TSH and USG NECK follow up should be enough... Avoid cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli... Use iodized salt...
