Cough and running nose for 7 months old

Hi Doctors My baby boy is 7 months old and suffering with cough and running nose. Can you pls suggest drops to reduce cough. Can I give mucolite drops(0.5 ml , 2 times a day). Please suggest. Thanks

If mild, avoid unnecessary meds and just give steam inhalations for cold and cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal blockade or increased cough on lying down. If not improving OR accompanied by other symptoms like wheezing or breathlessness and dullness or refusal to feed consult your paediatrician for physical examination and treatment.
