Hello.   for cough and cold make sure that he takes any antihistamine drugs like cetrizine, montair on a regular basis at least for a month so that the symptoms comes down... apart from that need to also do salt water gargling which will help you even in the reducing the inflammation of the tonsils.... recurrent tonsillitis is not good you need to take antibiotics for the same and also anti inflammatory drugs .... it's better you consult e n t specialist
