Continuos fever. Wisdom teeth infection?

Pain due to a  wisdom tooth is categorised into two types.  One is a kind of pain which is mild in nature and is related to the eruption of the tooth making its space in the jaw and the surrounding tissues. Second is a more severe type of pain which is due to either an infection of the tooth due to a cavity or infection of the surounding tissues. Fever due to wisdom tooth infection may be possible only if the level of infection is high like in a pyogenic infection (an infection with pus discharge). Other than the above sometimes pain and fever can also occur if there is an infection of maxillary sinus (sinus space just above your upper jaw teeth). This type of infection or pain may mimic a wisdom tooth pain. Although sinus infection will also have other signs such as blocked nose with or without discharge, pain in the eye space and forehead. As far as what I can figure out by your detail provided, your intermittent fever might not have any relation to the your infection in the tooth. Therefore it is best advised to get an alternative consultation with a physician as well in order to rule out any other undetected illness. I hope I have answered your query to satisfaction. Regards
