Contact lenses
I have negative 4 number in both my eyes. I use good quality lenses since 5 years ,maintain hygiene and also take care of my eyes. Sometimes dust sets it and causes irritation, pain, water comes out...I want to know if contact lenses are unhealthy , do they harm eyes in any way.

Hi, Contact lens if maintained well and if proper contact lens solution is used, they don't generally harm your eyes.but chronic use, that is ,more than 5-7 years is associated with some chronic changes in the eye, like presence of a few papillae, dry eyes, etc.chances of developing a intolerance to contact lenses also increases over long-term use.if dust sets in between the lens and the eye,u will definitely have problems as u described.if symptoms persist, consult your ophthalmologist.
