My son is 5 months old. He is on breastfeed. His weight is 6.15kg. When he was 4.5 months old I tried to give him formula milk ( dexolac premium)after consultation but he vomited out and it didn't suit him. Doctor advised to start with food after a week, now he is 5 months old and today I gave him nestle cerelac rice but again he has vomited out. But he has never faced any problem with breastfeed. Please advise further action since I am not satisfied with the peditrian consulted so far.

If Breast milk is sufficient and baby's weight is gaining you can give only brest milk till 6 months completion. May be he is not tolerating other feeds. If brest mil is less you can try formula milk like similac-1 or lactogen-1. Try different brands. Weaning can be started with cerelac rice. one or two days vomiting can be there at starting. You have to make cerelac very thin initially to tolerate it. slowly once he tolerates it you can make it thick step by step. Hope this helps.
Next Steps
If severe vomiting or loose stools contact your pediatrician.
