Constipation and Dark Brownish stool
My mother (55) suffers from constipation and often passes dark brownish stools. Once she was so constipated that a lot of blood came out with stool and she felt a muscle slipped out of her anus. A few months ago she suffered from pneumonia and her hemoglobin level was quite low, she started taking iron pills which made her constipation worse. Now she is off iron pills and last time we checked her hemoglobin was 10.20(still low). Recently she noticed a pinch of dry blood stain on her underwear, we are assuming its rectal bleeding. I am scared. I am tensed if it is something bad. What should we do now?

It is always suggestive of going for colonoscopy and per rectal examination. Fresh blood can be because of rectal bleeding/ an fissures. Dark stools can be ruled out witg colonoscopy
