A cat had delivered 2 kittens on my terrace. I tried to get rid of them but others said they would grow up and go away. I found one kitten dead today, some animal had killed it brutally. So I called a cleaner and she handled it with her bare hands even when I told her not to and took it away. Now in doing so she touched the metal handles of both the metal doors we have. I was too afraid to disinfect the door handles immediately, I thought I would do it after a while when saliva dries up. After 2 hrs my younger brother came early and touched both the handles to come in. Now I am worried that if he touched his eyes, nose immediately after touching the saliva on the handles, can he get infected? He doesn't even remember if the handle was dry. I thought the virus dies outside within a few minutes, but when I read it can be infectious upto 48 hours on metal, I am worried.
The weather was around 25-27 degree College, sunlight was very light. Can he get rabies and needs vaccine?
