Lips tend to get darker due to habitual lip licking due to our salivary enzymes. You need to find ways to tone down the habit as it’s an ongoing trigger. It’s can create a hypopigmentation line on the upper border of the lip called lip lick dermatitis. However you can use medicated lip creams prescribed by derms for which you require a consult. There are also procedures such as chemical peels and qswitched lasers for it. If it’s inflammed/ Red with active liplick dermatitis you will need a prescription ointment to get that down.
