Colonoscopy usually done under iv sedation in most of Indian setups for adults but if it being done for children or patients who are not able to follow command then it will be done under general anaesthesia,
If it's done under iv sedation , sometimes u may feel abdominal fullness.

Some surgeons do it under general anaesthesia and some under mild sedation, it is not a very painful procedure also you may experience nausea. It is better to discuss with your doctor regarding anaesthesia before going for the procedure
