What is the actual purpose of colon transit study?Can it recognise Rectoanal intussusception?I had defecography and the reports are suggestive of rectoanal intussusception and mucosal prolapse...The doctor has now advised colonic transit study??Will it be helpful in this regard??Plz answer...Also tell which type surgery would be fruitful for the above mentioned problems...Tried all sorts of laxatives,enemas as well as biofeedback but in vain...plz suggest a way to heal my problems

Colon transit study is helpful in determining the motility of whole colon more or less. It helps in evaluation of how much segment of colon is involved and ruling out other causes of motility disorders.
Next Steps
biofeedback is difficult to do properly. but if done is very helpful in rectoanal prolapse and obstructive sydrome of RECTUM.
