Lump could be a enlarged lymph node due to recurrent infection.Ideally you should take him to a pediatrician in your area for a clinical examination and appropriate treatment.

The small lump on your son's neck is most likely a reactive lymph node due to his persistent cough and cold. This is a common immune response to infections like upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), throat infections, or viral illnesses. Possible Causes: ✔ Reactive Lymph Node: Often appears behind the ear or on the neck due to infections. ✔ Viral/Bacterial Infection: Common colds, ear infections, or strep throat can trigger swelling. ✔ Allergic Reactions: Sometimes, allergies can cause lymph node enlargement. When to Be Concerned? If the lump grows rapidly or persists beyond 3-4 weeks. If it becomes red, warm, painful, or discharges pus. If associated with fever, weight loss, or night sweats. What You Can Do: ✅ Continue monitoring the lump and his cold symptoms. ✅ Ensure hydration & a healthy diet to boost immunity. ✅ Warm compress on the lump may help reduce swelling. ✅ Consult a specialist if it persists beyond a month or worsens. Since your child has had these symptoms for a month, a detailed examination is needed to rule out any underlying concerns. I strongly suggest a consultation for a thorough assessment.
